About Me

Hey there! I’m Susan.

I’m an Aussie mum of 3 young boys who is passionate about real food and low-tox living.

When it comes to food I believe in getting back to basics - shopping, cooking and eating like our grandmothers did (with real ingredients, no waste, no fuss and on a budget).

If you’re looking to eat more real, whole foods and get rid of the processed stuff you’re in the right place.

Our journey to whole foods ...

I have been sharing our family’s journey to a whole foods way of eating since 2008 along with tips for shopping, meal planning and getting fussy kids to eat what you’ve made (still not 100% successfully but as with everything else I’m aiming for progress not perfection!).

In 2014 I decided to take my interests in food and natural health a step further and enrolled to study Naturopathy. Balancing family, kids, study and staying healthy is my biggest challenge at the moment and you’ll hear all about that too, especially on my Facebook page at My Wholefood Family Essentials.

Essential oils ...

I am obsessed with essential oils and in 2016 became a Wellness Advocate with doTERRA to share my love of these amazing products. I use oils daily on my skin, in my food, to clean my home and to help keep us all happy and healthy!

What is an essential oil?

Essential oils are naturally occurring, pure extracts from the seeds, bark, roots, stems, flowers and other parts of plants. They are wonderfully aromatic and incredibly potent, so a little goes a long way. Every oil is unique and has specific properties with emotional and physical benefits. They are a safe, effective and affordable alternative to many mainstream remedies and can dramatically enhance your state of wellbeing. And they are a pure and DELICIOUS way to flavour your food, so you will find lots of recipes for oily treats here!

Why do I choose doTERRA?

I was first introduced to doTERRA several years ago but only just recently committed to a wholesale account with them because I wanted to do my own research on the company and be sure I was making a good decision. I was seriously impressed not only with the quality of the products and how they are sourced, but the way they are supporting the farmers, their Healing Hands Foundation and just the integrity and conviction of everyone involved. You can read more about the sourcing the products here.

To check out all the benefits of joining doTERRA visit my How to Join page here.

I’m addicted to reading food blogs and always have a stack of cookbooks from the library on my bedside table. I love my Thermomix too and it’s been invaluable to our wholefoods adventure over the past few years.

To keep up with all my news and recipes, and for access to all the free printables I create, you can join My Wholefood Family. Thanks so much for being here!
xx Susan
